Chris comes to us in 2018 after 15 years of serving in the Canadian Armed Forces, bringing a wealth of discipline, resilience, and leadership to his role. Meet Chris Wanamaker, a passionate and empathetic Personal Trainer at Fitness FX. With a versatile background that includes a diploma in Health, Wellness, and Recreation from Eastern College and certifications from ISSA, Chris combines technical knowledge with a strong commitment to client well-being. His unique approach is informed by both his professional training and personal experiences, making him a valuable asset to our team.
My Story
Chris’s journey as a personal trainer spans seven years, during which he has developed deep, long-term relationships with his clients. Many start with the intention of just a few sessions, only to recognize the lasting value of personalized training under Chris’s guidance, leading to long-term commitments. His clients appreciate his ability to create a comfortable, non-judgmental gym atmosphere and his dedication to understanding their lives outside the gym.
Specializing in breaking down barriers and stigmas around gym environments, Chris focuses on helping individuals improve their mental health through fitness. He works primarily with beginners, intermediates, and those preparing for fitness tests for military and first responder roles. His empathetic approach involves listening to clients’ needs, pushing them gently yet firmly to reach their potential, and providing continuous motivation both in and out of the gym.
Outside the gym, Chris’s interests include spending quality time with his son and spouse, learning new skills like piano, and pursuing hobbies such as drumming and drawing. These activities reflect his well-rounded personality and commitment to continuous self-improvement.
Chris continuously educates himself by studying influencers like Mike van Wyck and Jeff Nippard on YouTube, who inspire his training techniques and communication style. This commitment to ongoing learning enables Chris to provide his clients with up-to-date, effective training methods.
